Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

The location will be discussed with you prior to booking the service and will be within Cornwall, Devon and Somerset. Any locations outside of this will require additional costs.

If you really want to do the day remotely we can discuss this. However there is something special about getting outside of your normal environment. It allows you to take a different perspective, and removes the distractions that you would normally have. This allows you the chance to have a day for you, to relax and fully focus on your and your health goals.

The location is at my clinic in Tiverton where I am able to undertake the blood test and initial session. If coming to Tiverton isn't possible then please arrange a free 30-minute chat where we can discuss options further.

I advise testing as it allows us to get to the root cause quicker and put more focused actions into place. The tests I have recommended within the signature programme allow you to see what foods are potentially causing your blood sugar to spike, which can support you with adapting your diet. The OAT test provides a comprehensive snapshot of your overall health and allows more targeted actions to be advised. The Blue Horizon Wellness test is a comprehension blood test helping to identify what is causing a lack of energy levels.

My approach is always food first wherever possible. In today's society it is getting harder to get all the nutrients we need from food and when I see symptoms or results from testing that suggest a deficiency, I will advise supplements. I will always discuss this with you to see what will meet your

Yes, I'm registered with BANT and the CNHC which means I've met strict standards to allow me to work as a Nutritional Therapist. I was a children's nurse before undertaking a PGDip in Personalised Nutrition so I bring a lot of experience with me into this role. I use evidence based research to ensure the advice I give is safe and appropriate.

I'm also a lecturer with the Institute of Optimum Nutrition, meaning that I am keeping up to date with latest research and evidence based practice to share with my students.

I would recommend that we check in every two weeks but how we do that is up to you. You may be someone who prefers voice notes, online sessions or chat support. This is part of the reason there is a longer initial session than other packages as I believe we can get really focused on what you need and then it's about the support that fits in with your needs, which we will discuss.

Before the session I will send you an intake questionnaire and a food diary. This allows me to start gathering a picture of what's going on and ask more focused questions in the initial session to get clear on what is potentially impacting your health.

Your information is kept strictly confidential and held under the data protection act 2018. I am registered with the Information Commissioner's Office. You also have access to a client portal where information is confidentially held. I do contact your GP as part of your sessions and work closely with them when needed.

You will need to check with your private healthcare provider, in most cases this is possible. You often need to get a referral letter from your GP to access a claim.

The prices I charge take into consideration the time involved when working with you and the training and continuous professional development undertaken to be a Nutritional Therapist. When we work together it is not only the time we spend in sessions but it's the evidence based research, planning and writing of plans that goes on behind the scenes to ensure you have personalised advice. Whilst I do give dietary advice, I also can order and interpret tests, advise on supplements and undertake NLP coaching to support you in meeting your goals.

What is Nutritional Therapy?

Nutritional Therapy looks at you as a whole person, not just a syndrome. The aim is to find the root cause of what is causing you to not feel as energised as you want to and put strategies in place to have more energy and feel better. I believe food is there to nourish us and it’s about working with you to find a plan that supports you and you feel is manageable. It's about eating smarter, not deprivation.

As a nutritional therapist, I apply the latest evidenced based research in nutrition and health sciences to you and your symptoms to come up with a nutrition and lifestyle plan to support your needs. I take a personalised approach as I believe one diet does not fit all and it’s about what works for you. Sometimes supplements and testing, which involve an additional cost, may be recommended to support your needs.

I also bring coaching into the sessions to support you in putting ideas into practice in a meaningful way or breakthrough whatever barriers have held you back in the past.
